Nos Activités et Évènements
(Our Activities & Events)
Below are descriptions of all the activities and events sponsored by the East Carter Chapter of the French Honor Society each year at East Carter High School. Everyone is invited to attend these events and to participate in these activities at no cost! Our Chapter works hard to provide these events for the entertainment and enrichment of the entire student body at ECHS and the community of Carter County!
French Fest
The "French Fest" is an annual event that has been taking place here at East Carter High School for the past 20 years! Usually held in the fall during "Raider French Week", the French Fest is a two-hour-long celebration of the French language and culture featuring French food, live music, dance performances, games, and special presentations. This event is held annually in the East Carter Cafeteria, and is free for all to attend! For more information and to see photos from previous years, click here!

French Film Nights
Once the school year is well underway, our chapter will begin sponsoring a monthly event called "Festival de Films Francais" ("French Film Nights") where we will meet up after school in the ole French classroom (Room #216), enjoy some refreshments, and watch a French film (yes, they make movies in France that are different than American films, because they speak in French).

Induction Ceremony
Induction Ceremonies are a formal event and solemn occasion. Students who are being inducted as well as officers of the SHF will be dressed in formal attire and will participate in a symbolic ceremony whereby they will be connected to a spiritual brotherhood and sisterhood of those who share a love and appreciation for the French language and culture. Students must be in the second half or semester of their French 2 class, as well as meet the criteria for grades and academic performance, in order to be inducted into the National French Honor Society.
