List of Offices & Responsibilities
The Chapter Sponsor is the French teacher. Their job is to work with the chapter president and all officers to make sure that the chapter is run in a smooth, efficient, fair, and effective manner. The Chapter Sponsor also works with the chapter president to create, plan, and implement all chapter activities.
A president’s job is to lead meetings, work with the Chapter Sponsor about planning activities and agendas. Presidents have the final say about SHF activities, they can only be overridden by the Chapter Sponsor. The president is also expected to help out in any way possible with all SHF activities.
A vice-president’s job is to lead meetings in the absence of the President. Vice-Presidents also work with the President and the Chapter Sponsor about planning SHF activities and they are encouraged to lend their ideas and support at all times. The vice-president is also expected to help out in any way possible with all SHF activities.
A secretary’s job is to take notes at every meeting of the discussions and decisions of the SHF. The secretary will keep all notes and other important chapter documents together in a binder and will work with the Chapter Sponsor as well as other chapter officers. The secretary is also expected to help out in any way possible with all SHF activities.
A treasurer’s basic job is to keep track of finances for this chapter of SHF. This includes keeping track of how much money is spent and how much money is brought in. The treasurer is also expected to help out in any way possible with all SHF activities.
An activities leader’s job is to help plan, supervise, and coordinate all SHF activities. The activities leader will work with the chapter president and the Chapter Sponsor in order to devise and implement all events and activities of the SHF. The Activities Leader will serve automatically as the host/ess of the evening festivities at the French Fest each year.
The public relations coordinator is responsible for handling advertising as well as local press releases for all chapter activities. This includes taking photos of all events and keeping the chapter’s website up-to-date. The public relations coordinator is also expected to help out in any way possible with all SHF activities.
Executive Assistants help the other officers to carry out all chapter activities, they have full voting privileges and their input into all decisions and direction of the chapter are always heard, welcomed, and considered. They are also in-line to become executive officers of the chapter should a position become suddenly vacant due to unforeseen circumstances.
